A pre-trial conference is typically reserved for the prosecutor to provide discovery, which refers to as the evidence to be used at trial. Defense lawyers may also to request copies of documents, recordings, or other evidence in support of the defense of the case. It is also an opportunity for defense lawyers and the prosecutors to discuss the evidence in a case, a potential plea or other disposition, and/or to schedule a motion or trial date.
